Advocate for Educational Excellence

STEPHANIE

BURNETT

Committed to supporting the success of every child and strengthening the future of Mercer Island’s schools.

STATEMENT

I am seeking election to the Mercer Island School Board because I believe deeply in every child’s potential and the power of public education to shape a bright future for our community.  As both a parent and long-time volunteer, I’ve come to greatly appreciate the district’s strengths while also recognizing the important areas where we can grow and improve.

We live in challenging times for public education. While Mercer Island has a proud history of academic achievement and excellence, we are not immune from the pressures facing schools nationwide. Even here, doubts and divisions can threaten trust in our institutions. I believe our shared values are stronger than our differences, and that a collaborative, effective Board is vital to sustaining trust and success. I bring a curious, creative, and bridge-building approach—committed to finding common ground to serve all students.
